Hello Dads,
- The following is the sign up list and emails I have received so far, some of you may have signed up in your classrooms but those lists don't always make it to us so let me know if I missed you and I will get you down.
- We will need four people to help us get set up at 10 AM and about 8 people per shift; cooking, running supplies, dealing with flames, and helping to serve.
- We're a little thin on the 2:00 - 3:00 shift and I doubt I'll be able to finish all the beer myself (but I'll give it a solid effort) so sign up there if you can.
- It should be a fun afternoon of slinging burgers, breathing smoke, shooting the breeze, and sharing suds with some friends and neighbors so join us if you can.
Reply to me (not all) if you'd like to volunteer and I'll send further details to just the volunteers. Thanks - Bill

Gents, we’re in the final week before carnival and our final push to get ticket sales completed. I can’t begin to thank everyone for working so hard to help Briargrove make it to Exemplary status. I’ve been visiting with our Principle Mrs. Russell and were talking about getting computers for all the teachers in addition to getting the Smart Boards installed. This is not going to be cheap so we need to raise as much as we can.
I want to personally thank Chris Spears for running the raffle operation. He’s the reason this event is so successful at raising the funds that it does. It’s a second job and he’s really put a bunch of effort into it. Thanks Chris!
Also, I am tentatively planning a Carnival “Great Job” celebration for the weekend after Carnival (10/22) as a way to celebrate all our hard work. Venue to be determined, but it will include dinner and a couple of drinks. Go ahead and block out your calendars for that Saturday evening. More details to follow in the next day or so.
As for the Carnival, key dates are as follows:
Thurs 10/13 – Haunted House setup – we need bodies
Friday 10/14 – Haunted House setup – still need bodies
Saturday 10/15 - Carnival
Dads Club sponsors two of the key events; the Grill and the Haunted House. The Grill Master and the Master Haunter will have times and details to follow, but the day of the carnival all we’re asking is for 1 hour of your time. Will have beverages!
Grill - Bill Haley mailto:BHaley@Northmarq.com has graciously agreed to be Grill Master this year. The Grill is responsible for preparing the hamburger and hot dog lunch for the entire carnival. Bill will get you more information. Please let Bill know if you can help out.
Haunted House - John Lilly jlilly@gscpipe.com has graciously agreed to be the Master Haunter. John is a true veteran of this event. We take over the music room at the school and build a maze out of black plastic to create the Haunted House. Last year we got over 1,000 people come through. We need help setting up the evenings of Thurs 10/13 and Friday 10/14 and then bodies on Saturday to actually scare the kids. It’s a bunch of fun. Please let John know if you can help out.
Again, thanks everyone for what you are doing. Briargrove Elementary is a rare gem and the work you do today will pay out for years.
Regards,
Scott Prince
