HISD IS UPDATING ITS VOLUNTEER DATA BASE AND THE STATUS OF ALL VOLUNTEERS WHO REGISTERED BEFORE JUNE 2011 IS NOW INACTIVE. TO RE-ACTIVIATE THEIR CLEARED VOLUNTEER STATUS THEY MUST PRESENT THEIR BACKGROUND INFORMATION (DRIVERS LICENSE OR PASSPORT) TO Mary Clare Ward (in the front office). PLEASE SPREAD THE WORD SO YOUR VOLUNTEERS WILL BE CLEARED TO GO ON FIELD TRIPS OR VOLUNTEER AT THE SCHOOL!!!!!

- HISD is updating its volunteer database (VISITS) and is requiring all returning volunteers (those registered before June 2011) to present identification to the school’s VISITS coordinator (Mary Clare) for resubmission of the criminal background check.
- Please note that you will not need to register online again this school year.
- Your information will be placed in INACTIVE status until identification is provided.
- Once CLEARED, you will be considered an active volunteer for the current school year.
- At the end of the 2011-2012 school year, all volunteers remaining in INACTIVE STATUS will be dropped from the database and will need to register online again and follow the steps as a new volunteer for the 2012-2013 school year.
In cooperation with our PRIDE program:
- Be PERSISTENT and present your drivers license or passport to Mary Clare so she can activate your status to be a cleared volunteer.
- Because you are DEPENDABLE, you want to be a cleared volunteer so you can accompany your child’s class on field trips and volunteer in the school.
Show us your identification and reactivate your volunteer status and we will give you a Briargrove buck for your child!
